Conan: Tales of High Adventure – An Adventure Mode Scenario Anthology & Artwork

Tales of High Adventure brings together 23 Adventure Mode scenarios in one physical book, along with a substantial Artbook section. Among those 23 scenarios are 15 adventures previously released digitally and 8 completely brand-new scenarios. 8 Brand-New Adventures The new scenarios take Conan across very different places, stories and periods of his life: The Black Coast Mutiny on the Tigress Treasure Hunt Princess of the Night Vale of Lost Women Other Evils Just Another Slug Cult Queen of Madness Some return directly to Robert E. Howard’s stories. Others explore new possibilities using the characters, creatures and settings of Conan. The Black Coast For The Black Coast, Ken Meyri wanted to stay close to Robert E. Howard’s Queen of the Black Coast. Conan, Bêlit and the crew of the Tigress have found their treasure, but the Winged One is stalking them from above, sending lesser creatures against the Heroes before striking itself. Even the black lotus powder from Howard’s story becomes part of the scenario, capable of leaving Conan unconscious for an entire turn. The Heroes will need everything they can find among the treasure if they hope to bring the creature down before it reaches Bêlit. Other Evils Dan Mauric takes a different approach with a Conan “what if?” Other Evils imagines the Black Ones visiting the wicked halls of Xuchotl long before Conan’s time, searching for a device that appears eerily familiar in two Howard stories. The Black Ones must escape Xuchotl with the Pipes of Madness, while the Heroes defend against a Xotalanc raid and try to keep the darkest secrets of the city out of their hands. And, naturally, there may be a few more red nails hammered into the black pillar before the night is over. Queen of Madness This time, the tables are turned. Madness has seized Bêlit, and the Overlord controls Conan. Conan fights alongside the Overlord’s forces aboard the ship, desperately trying to break a Stygian curse before it is too late Sometimes, the Overlord gets to be the hero. Just Another Slug Cult Conan returns to Khitai to face a brutal cult on the shores of Lake Ho. Cultists, allies to rescue, hidden chambers, an evil sorcerer, heavy weaponry, tentacles and a particularly unpleasant slug monster all feature in the scenario. This one also puts a lot of existing Conan material back on the table, including content from Red Nails, Conan the Conqueror, Khitai, Hidden Chambers and Versus. 23 Scenarios Across the Conan Range The book includes scenarios for 2 to 5 players, using maps, miniatures and components from across the Conan Board Game range. The table of contents indicates the material required for every scenario, so you can immediately see which adventures work with your collection. From smaller two-player confrontations to larger four- and five-player battles, Tales of High Adventure was designed to give you more reasons to bring years of Conan material back to the table. And a New Artbook Section The second half of the book is a 48-page Artbook section featuring Conan artwork never previously collected in our earlier Conan artbooks. It includes illustrations created for the Red Nails campaign as well as artwork from Tales of Tortage and Zamora, bringing together a new chapter of Conan by Monolith’s visual history. And wrapping it all is a new cover by Alex Horley. Treasure, sorcery, betrayal and blood. High adventure awaits.
